Global inequalities in access to medical care are becoming apparent now more than ever. A significant contributor to these disparities is the scarce supply of reliable medical hardware in low-resource settings. Without access to many of the medical devices used in high-resource settings, diagnosing and treating patients becomes increasingly difficult. Cost is one of the biggest barriers that contribute to the difficulty in access to medical devices.

Glia’s philosophy is built on the foundation of equal care for all. At Glia, we are dedicated to breaking down barriers in access to care by creating high-quality, low-cost validated medical devices. Guided by our equal care philosophies, Glia operates under an open-source model with all design specifications being posted to online public repositories. This means that anyone anywhere in the world can access device manufacturing instructions and reproduce these devices with the right tools. Additionally, Glia produces devices using accessible technologies such as 3D printing to ensure that device production is not limited by access to specialized equipment. All in all, Glia continuously works to address inequalities in global access to care by maximizing the accessibility of reliable medical devices.

By donating* to Glia, you are helping to break down barriers in access to care on a global scale. Your generous contribution will be put towards the processing of manufacturing devices, research and development, compliance, and other overhead costs. Our promise to you is to make your dollars go as far as they can in reaching our project goal: equal access to care, for all.
